Some people are shaped by where they come from. Others are forged by what they survive. Courtney Beth Gascon is a powerful blend of both, and her story is one of resilience, creativity, and quiet determination.
Courtney is from Masonville, New York, a small town with a population of around 1,200 people. It is the kind of place where most people know one another, where life moves at a calmer pace, and where family traditions still carry weight. Growing up there shaped how she views the world today. Family, legacy, and connection are central to who she is. Passing down traditions and stories matters deeply to her, especially as a mother. She wants her son to know where he comes from, to understand the people who came before him, and to carry the best parts of them forward.
Her life has not been without challenges. From a young age, Courtney struggled with severe migraines, which later led to a seizure disorder diagnosis. Over time, she learned how complex and misunderstood these conditions can be. Managing her health became a daily responsibility, including carefully watching food additives, particularly in meats, that could trigger migraines or seizures. Later in life, Courtney was also diagnosed with PCOS, a hormonal disorder that affects fertility.
Becoming a mother required extraordinary strength. Courtney went through self injected hormone therapy in order to conceive, a physically and emotionally demanding process that tested her patience and resolve. That journey led to the birth of her son, Luca. His name translates to light of love, and to Courtney, it perfectly reflects what he represents in her life. She sees him as a blessing and a reminder that perseverance can lead to something beautiful.
Rather than allowing her medical challenges to limit her, Courtney used them as motivation to learn. She developed a strong interest in nutrition, exercise, and understanding how the human body works. That curiosity and discipline carried naturally into her professional life.
Courtney is a licensed cosmetologist in both New York and North Carolina, with a specialized focus in special effects makeup. She is a graduate of QC Academy and also studied theatrical makeup at Binghamton University. Early in her SFX journey, she spent two years as part of the Woods of Terror SFX makeup team. During that time, her dedication and talent earned her a scholarship from the Haunted House Association, an international professional organization within the haunted attraction industry. It is an achievement she remains deeply grateful for.
Creatively, Courtney thrives in spaces where imagination and intensity meet. She loves creating special effects makeup, especially for Halloween Horror Nights, where transformation and storytelling come together in bold, unforgettable ways. Horror allows her artistry to push boundaries and bring characters to life in powerful visual form.

What keeps Courtney moving forward is not applause or recognition. Her motivation is internal. She believes that a willingness to learn is success in itself because learning adds value to both people and projects. That mindset drives her even when no one is watching and no one is cheering.
Today, Courtney works with Redhawk Crescent Studios, Maine Genius Productions LLC, and Snaps N’ Tears Studios. She has multiple upcoming projects with Redhawk Crescent Studios and is currently involved in productions such as Broken Raven, Humans. I See Dead People, which has completed its pilot, and Like Family, which is in active production. Her career continues to grow as she builds a strong presence in film, horror, and creative media.

Outside of work, Courtney’s life is just as full. She lived in Hawaii for three years and appeared as an extra in the films Aloha and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. She is her son’s Cub Scouts pack leader, a role she takes great pride in. She is a Taurus, loves blueberries and raspberries, favors pink and green, enjoys traveling as much as possible, and volunteers at her local animal shelter. These details reflect her grounded, caring nature and her love for both people and animals.
When asked what she would tell her younger self, Courtney’s answer is simple and powerful. Do not listen to people who tell you what you cannot do. You can do whatever you want. You can accomplish anything.
That belief runs through every part of her life. Courtney Beth Gascon defines success by passion, resilience, and surrounding herself with positive, driven, like minded people. She is building a life rooted in purpose, creativity, and love, and her story is still unfolding.
